Khateeta has demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation throughout her distinguished career in science and her transition into the art world.

With a BS in Chemistry from Coppin State University and Master of Science in Organic Chemistry from Southern Illinois University, Khateeta led significant projects at Merck Pharmaceuticals, including pivotal contributions to the development of the COVID-19 antiviral Molnupiravir.  Her leadership roles extended to managing high-priority projects, ensuring compliance with health and industrial manufacturing standards, and mentoring and advocating for employment of underrepresented groups in STEM, showing a strong commitment to diversity and empowerment. She received numerous awards, such as the Global Pharmaceutical Commercialization Streamlined Innovation Award and the Green Chemistry Award, underscoring her dedication to sustainable and innovative practices.

Despite her scientific achievements, Khateeta’s connection to the arts remained strong, influenced by her family’s artistic background. This connection inspired a shift in her career path.

Khateeta’s approach to life and work has always been characterized by thinking outside the box, a trait that has earned her respect and appreciation in her professional circles. Her decision to focus on the arts reflects her family’s legacy and her belief in the power of creativity. Her unique blend of scientific and business acumen combined with artistic sensitivity positions her to become a dynamic leader in the Baltimore art community, particularly through her work with Gallery Reimagined.

As a long-time evaluation consultant, living and working in two different countries, she has guided nonprofit organizations in strategic planning, capacity building, and bringing new ideas to life. Lisa is currently a senior advisor at the Impact Finance Center, conducting research into impact investing initiatives around the country. She is also a research consultant, learning facilitator, advisor to women social entrepreneurs, and angel investor. As a strategic and innovative thinker with a capacity to consider issues from multiple perspectives, Lisa enjoys helping groups and individuals to imagine, plan, and prepare for the future. Lisa also has an interest in innovative uses of capital at the intersection of for-profit and nonprofit entities, such as revenue-generating nonprofits, and business for good. Lisa received a PhD in organizational self-evaluation from the University of Auckland, a Master of Arts from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Georgetown University. Lisa currently lives in North Carolina and enjoys hiking, reading, travel, photography, art museums, and exploring.

With extensive service on nonprofit boards, Sylvia’s knowledge and experience will be invaluable in overseeing the growth and success of Gallery Reimagined.
